A TRUE legend of the mighty Arsenal Football Club is hitting Aussie shores on Tuesday 4 April to celebrate 100 days to go until the Gunners’ #ArsenalinSydney Tour this July.
Sol Campbell – considered one of the finest defenders ever produced by England – will be in Sydney to coincide with the final release of public tickets for Arsenal’s games against Sydney FC (Thursday 13 July) and Western Sydney Wanderers (Saturday 15 July).
Tickets for both games are available here
Campbell, 42, is excited to be heading to Australia for the first time to represent the Gunners ahead of their tour in July.
“It’s really an honour to be travelling to Sydney on behalf of Arsenal, and building up the excitement ahead of the first-team’s pre-season tour this northern summer,” said Campbell.
“I know there’s a huge crowd of people working hard to get everything ready for the two games, and a large number of really passionate fans counting down the days to the games.
“I’m really excited to be visiting Sydney. I’ve never been to the city, or indeed Australia, before, and I’m looking forward to meeting people and seeing the landscape which looks beautiful from everything I’ve seen.
“The Arsenal in Sydney Tour games will be important for Arsenal Football Club on so many levels and I’m looking forward to seeing you and your great city to talk about the Tour soon.”

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall welcomed Sol Campbell’s visit and said Arsenal’s tour of Sydney was a major win for football fans and the State of NSW.
“The NSW Government is proud of its continued success in attracting major events to NSW. Securing the visit of global football power Arsenal to Sydney will continue to showcase our major events capabilities to the world and help us drive economic growth,” Mr Marshall said.
Voted Arsenal’s 15th greatest player in their history, Campbell played 211 times for the Gunners, winning six trophies for the club including two Premier League titles and three FA Cups.
Campbell was a cornerstone player of the “Invincibles” side that went an entire Premier League season unbeaten in 2003/04.
He was an England international for over a decade and, at age 23, became the second (now third) youngest England captain in history.
Campbell will be promoting the #ArsenalinSydney Tour while interacting with Aussie Arsenal fans and key stakeholders, as well as exploring the city and showcasing Sydney on the world stage.
